IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU

Christianity begins with God, rests upon His authority, and exists for His glory.

God did not create humanity to serve its ambitions. It's Not About You confronts the cancer of making mankind the center of Christianity and the feel-good preaching that elevates human desires above Scripture. Through creation, rebellion, righteousness, and redemption, it restores the rightful order: God is sovereign, salvation is His gracious work, and genuine surrender follows His transforming grace.

“For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.”
Romans 11:36 · NIV

Christianity was never meant to revolve around mankind.

Humanity was created for God's purposes, not to establish its own. Yet religious activity can conceal an expectation that faith should deliver success, comfort, and personal fulfillment. Prayer becomes a way to seek preferred outcomes, giving is treated as an investment in future blessings, and obedience is valued for what it might secure. The language of Christianity remains while its rightful order is reversed.

Scripture establishes that God needs nothing from those He created (Acts 17:24–25). All things are from Him, through Him, and for Him (Romans 11:36). His authority is not granted by human agreement, and His righteousness cannot be measured by human accomplishments. It's Not About You calls readers back to the sovereignty of the Creator and mankind's complete dependence upon Him.

The book directly confronts the cancer of making mankind the center of Christianity: prosperity promises, motivational preaching, selective exposition, and teaching that withholds difficult truths to keep audiences comfortable. Paul warned that people would seek teachers who tell them what they want to hear (2 Timothy 4:3–4). Neither the church nor its ministers may revise God's Word to suit those preferences.

This confrontation is not a call to relentless condemnation or an attempt to earn salvation through religious performance. Redemption is God's gracious work through Jesus Christ, not the reward of human achievement (Ephesians 2:8–9). Spiritual rebirth is the work of the Holy Spirit (John 3:3–8), and repentance, obedience, and surrender arise from His transforming grace. The answer to self-centered Christianity is not legalism, but a return to the rightful order: God is sovereign, mankind is dependent, and all glory belongs to Him.
